Description and Activities: The missile facility in Sirjan, also known as Saidabad, is located 790km southeast of the Iranian capital, Tehran, in the province of Kerman. The facility is under the supervision of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
As early as 1978, Iran started building a missile assembly facility close to the city of Sirjan with Israeli assistance, as part of "Operation Flower." However, it is not clear whether this facility was expanded after the Islamic Revolution or whether the Iranians simply built a new facility in Sirjan with the help of the North Koreans.
The facility researches and develops rockets and liquid fuels; it also allegedly manufactures ballistic missiles and various missile components. It houses Chinese-made Silkworm and M-11 missiles.
